We at Ferazzi Marble take great care in providing the very best for our customers, and below we have outlined the best tips to ensure your marble is kept in the best possible condition:
o-- Contrary to popular belief,
Marble albeit hardwearing and versatile is extremely prone
o--
to staining and scratching, and dependant on colour the porosity will sometimes
behave
o-- like a sponge and soak in liquid.
o-- Certain products will act like a dye
and upon prolonged contact with a Marble surface
o--
and could permanently spoil the looks, drinks like Red Wine, Tea, Coffee
and Cola, and
o-- items such as beetroot juice
and fresh chicken and grease should not be left unattended
o--
for any length of time on un-protected surfaces.
o--
There are chemicals that have been specially formulated in helping
to reduce staining of
o-- marble as for granite
surfaces, as long as any spillage is not left for prolonged periods of
o--
time, but wiped with a damp cloth as soon as possible.
o--
Acidic products such as lime and lemon juices are NOT protected by any
product such
o-- as stain stop. Clean water
will temporarily darken the surface, but will evaporate and
o--
return to normal once dried out.
o-- It
is advisable to regularly apply a stain stop product periodically say 6 monthly
for
o-- marble and once yearly to granite surfaces,
keep the stain free protection in place. It also
o--
enhances the stone and helps maintain the natural beauty for many years.
o-- Stain stop and other Stone-care products can be obtained from Ferazzi Marble Ltd.
